I have been crocheting for over 30 years, since my grandma taught me in 6th grade.  My favorite item to make is doilies because of their variety, intricacy and skill required.  I enjoy the challenge of a new, beautiful, difficult pattern.  I also enjoy making baby blankets and afghans.  I have been entering my work in the county fair for the last 25 years and have collected many blue ribbons.  I always strive for perfection and create every item as carefully as if I were keeping it for myself. 

I always use 100 % mercerized cotton crochet thread size 10 for my doilies.  I hand wash and block my doilies without starch before I photograph them.  For the baby blankets and afghans I use a variety of yarns, all machine washable.
